Obituary for
Sandra Faye Woodard Moriarty
Frankfort – Sandra Faye Woodard Moriarty, 56, departed this life on Sunday, October 16, 2016 while being surrounded by family and friends. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 with Father John Moriarty officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
Sandra was born on February 7, 1960 in Frankfort, Kentucky to the late Zack and Marie Gurton Woodard. She was united in marriage on November 20, 1988 to her husband of 27 years, Gary Allen Moriarty. She graduated from Franklin County High School. She was employed at Kentucky State University for 16 years. She enjoyed life in the moment. She loved spending time with Gary, her sons and grandchildren. Sandra enjoyed watching her nephews and brother play softball and playing Phase 10 with her best friends. She was an avid University of Tennessee, University of Louisville and Peyton Manning fan. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 4075.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anne Brown; brother Zack Woodard; nephew, Byron Keith Woodard; and great-nephew Ethan Adam Smith.
Sandra leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Gary, her sons, Victor Tavey (Kizzy) Hogan and Jason Adam Hogan, all of Frankfort; by her brothers, Richard D. (Myong) Woodard, Tacoma, Washington, Darrell S. Woodard, all of Frankfort; by her sister, Sharon W. (Tommy) Bowen, of Frankfort; by her mother-in-law, Susie Moriarty; by seven grandchildren, Victor, Jordan, Olivia, Leia, Tya, Isaiah, and Kiera. She was also blessed with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Roger Hogan, Darryl Woolums, Adrian Mickens, Clarence Stallard, Ed Moriarty III, and Frank Bush. Honorary pallbearers will be Alyce Brown, Mary Woodard, Scott Woodard, Anthony Woodard, Richard Woodard, Jr., Kayla Hyatt, Jarrett Hyatt, Tracy Woodard, Shannon Woodard-Bright, Aaron Woodard, Zackary Woodard, Jennifer Woodard, Joseph Hyatt, and Matthew Hyatt.
