Obituary for
Elsie T. Smith (Thurman)
Elsie Smith, 90, of Frankfort went home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2017. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Smith was born May 31, 1927, to the late Charles and Mary Thurman. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl L. Smith, son Charles A. Smith, 12 brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Gary Smith (Brenda), Wayne Smith and William Smith. She lived in Frankfort most of her life where she raised four sons, went on to have eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild who all adored her.
She worked over 30 years at Old Grand-Dad Distillery and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Frankfort. A kinder more generous, loving person you’ll never find. She was a good Christian lady and made the world a better place just by being a part of it. She won the hearts of everyone that knew her. We find comfort in knowing she is with her Lord now and thank the Lord for letting us have her as long as we did.
Services for Mrs. Smith will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dan Luttrell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Newberry, Jeremy Sivils, Matthew Smith, Josh Smith, Andrew Smith, Dean Duncan, Mike Johnson and Jimmy Clyde Dearinger.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
