Obituary for Edward Derrick Jennings

Frankfort – Edward Derrick Jennings, age 45, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 in Frankfort. Services will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jay Stratton officiating. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Derrick was born in Shelbyville, Kentucky on November 24, 1971 to the late Edward Jake Jennings and Mary Clark Jennings. He worked for Harrod Concrete as well as coached football for many teams in Franklin County. He was an avid Alabama Football fan and a dedicated coach. Above all, he was a loving and devoted father to his two sons, Xavier and Xia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Clark Jennings.

He is survived by his sons, Xavier A. Jennings and Xia S. Jennings; sisters, Katrinka Jennings, Sharon Ryan, and Marshia Sanderson; and by a special friend, Tiffany Clark.

Proudly serving as pallbearers will be Sean Wilkins, Mark Wilson, James Jennings, Edward Van Hoose, Clay Eades and Xavier Jennings. Honorary bearers will be Tony Stratton and Xia Jennings.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Western Hills Football Team in Derrick’s honor.

Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
