Mary Eugenia Miles (Combs)
Frankfort – Mary Eugenia “BéBe” Combs Miles, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 22, 2017, following an illness.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mikel Robinson presiding and Rev. Donald Townsend delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m.
Mary was born in Franklin County on December 1, 1931, one of nine children of the late William Taylor and Millie Carter Combs. She was a life-long member of Green Hill Baptist Church and retired from the Department of Transportation. Before beginning her career in state government, she was a much sought after seamstress and tailor. Mary loved to fish and was an avid UK Wildcat fan. However, her greatest joy was her family and the children of the family including the grandchildren, nieces and nephews and supporting them in all of their activities. Mary’s memory will be cherished by a host of family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Flora Campbell, Charles W. Combs, Sr., Anna E. Davis, Robert E. Combs, James E. Combs, Sr., Geneva Craig and Maggie Combs.
Mary is survived by her loving son Eric Drexell Miles and his wife Mae; her sister, Dorothy Combs McGowan; grandchildren, Gordon Thomas Miles and Haley Jalae Miles; and three great grandchildren, Brooklynn Danielle Miles, Jordynn Nicole Miles and their mother, Rachel Holt and Skylar Rose Miles and her mother, Haley Miles.
