Condolence: SGM Hill and Kay,
God comfort you and keep you! The pain of losing our children is worse than any other. Remember you will be together again one day, where there are no tears or pain.
Your dear son helped me and has helped my mother in Pic Pac many times. I know J.D. learned to be kind and considerate of others from his parents. Bill, I can't count the many times when I worked in the EOC that you assisted me and others.
I came Monday at 5:30 and had to leave by 6:00. What a long line of friends who loved J.D.! I saw several Batman shirts, didn't know whether J.D. liked Batman, but it seems they were wearing them in honor of him. We were not able to get to the sign-in book or to speak to you, the line was so long that we had to leave by 1800. My heart goes out to you, standing there greeting those paying their condolences. I did the same, with my son Justin. I was on autopilot, numb and going through the motions because it had to be done. God give you strength and comfort.
This Bible verse gives me peace:
2 Peter 3:8-10
8) But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
It says that God's time is not man's time, that whether we live 1 day or 100 years, our lives are precious to God. And it says that the long wait until we are with our loved ones again will seem like the blink of an eye when we hold them in our arms and see their beautiful faces in heaven. It will be as if they never left.
