Obituary for Gary Thomas Hutcherson

Frankfort – Gary Thomas Hutcherson, 69, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ricky Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Hutcherson was born in Frankfort on October 26, 1947 to the late Kenneth Thomas and Christine Poe Hutcherson. He was united in marriage to his wife, Judy Hutcherson, of Frankfort. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Kentucky Boone National Guard. He was a sports enthusiast and loved woodworking. Above all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Butch Hutcherson.

Along with his wife, Judy, he is survived by his children, Gary T.(Dana) Hutcherson II and Matt Hutcherson, all of Frankfort and Katie (Zack) Burford, of Georgetown, and by his father-in-law, Rudy Green, of Frankfort. He was also blessed with his grandchildren, Lanon Hutcherson, LylaGrace Hutcherson, GracynLyn Hutcherson, Brice Burford, Sawyer Burford, and Emma Burford.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary T. Hutcherson II, Matt Hutcherson, Zack Burford, Mike Burford, Brent Poole, Phil Hughes, Sean Burford and Noel Clayton. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation, 1230 Liberty Bank Lane, Suite 300, Louisville, KY 40222.

Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
