Obituary for Calvin Perry Smith

Frankfort – Calvin Perry Smith, age 93, went to be with our Lord on February 20, 2017. Services for Mr. Smith will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 with Dr. Bob Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Ramey Cemetery in Confederate, Kentucky. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

He was born March 25, 1923 to the late Stanley and Cleora Lee Smith of Bald Knob. He was united in marriage to his wife of 68 years, Ruby Nell Smith, who recently preceded him in death. They lived in Louisville, Kentucky where he drove a truck for many years. Calvin enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting and was a member of First Baptist Church at the Singing Bridge.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Maldon Lee Smith.

He is survived by two brothers, Ollie Smith of Lexington and Donnie Ray (Patty) Smith of Frankfort; two sisters, Janice Yeast and Priscilla Goins, both of Frankfort. He was also loved by several nieces and nephews and his many friends.
Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be the Keystone Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the First Baptist Church Missions Fund, 201 Saint Clair Street, Frankfort, KY 40601

Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
