Virginia "Pency" Hosley
Frankfort – Virginia “Pency” Hosley, 92, passed away at home Saturday, July 23, 2016.
Services for Ms. Hosley will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home. Bro. William Hartung will officiate. Committal services will follow in Frankfort Cemetery. First visitation is Monday from 5-8 p.m. with a second visitation on Tuesday from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Ms. Hosley was born in Franklin County, Kentucky January 7, 1924, to Preston and Mary Hampton. She was the loving wife of the late John W. Hosley, a dedicated mother, and adored by all who knew her. Lovingly known as “Pency”, she attended Thornhill Baptist Church where she was a life member. Pency was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post #4075 as well as past President and life member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post #3360 in Defiance, OH, Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post #7, and a Kentucky Colonel.
She is survived by her sons, Gregg Hosley (Jane), Richard Long (Judy); daughters, Jane Scott Hosley, Susan Mitchell (David); grandchildren, Cassie Givens, Lori Letulle, Angie Wilbers, David “Louis” Mitchell Jr., Rebecca Long, and Brian Long; great grandchildren, Michael Keffer, Christopher Keffer, Andrew Keffer, Mitchell Letulle, Ashton Moore, Cassie Ann Campbell, Kerstyn Aiyana Britton, Alexandria Dutton, Caroline Kathryn Mitchell, Cameron Marshall, Aven Long, Justin Long, and Ashley Long, and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ms. Hosley was preceded in death by her brothers, Edmund Hampton, Preston Hampton Jr., Robert Hampton, Billy Hampton; sisters, Marie Hampton Webster, Lucille Hampton Goins, Jean Hampton Cheser; a great grandson, Christian Dutton Mitchell; twin granddaughters, Virginia and Jane Manns; nephew, Bobby Webster, and great nephew, Jason Wayne Cammack.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lori Letulle, Louis Mitchell, Michael Keffer, Christopher Keffer, Andrew Keffer, Mitchell Letulle, Reed Wilbers, and Brian Long. Honorary pallbearers are Cassie Givens, Angie Wilbers, Becky Long, Herbie Cheser, Kathryn Mitchell, and Gippy Graham.
Pency’s family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to Hospice of the Bluegrass. In addition, the family recognizes the extraordinary efforts of the following special caregivers: Linda Slaughter, Marsha Nichols, Angie Wilbers, Judy Adcock, Lori Letulle, Judy Long, and Cassie Givens.
