Obituary for George William Tanksley

Waddy– George William Tanksley, age 75, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City, Ohio on Friday, August 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Roark officiating.

Mr. Tanksley was born on March 6 ,1942 to the late William and Shirley Ann Hager Tanksley. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean Lyttle Tanksley, who also preceded him in death. He retired from Chemineer in Dayton, Ohio. He had a love for traveling with his beloved wife and a special interest in classic cars. His fun, loving, and gentle personality lead him to be loved by all.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ann Burke and Linda Humphrey.

He is survived by his children, Russell Miller (Teresa) of London, Kentucky, Kathy Highlander (Larry), of Dayton, Ohio, Mike Tanksley, of Owenton, Kentucky, Tammy Singleton (Tom), of Waddy, Kentucky, and Susan Ellis (Robert), Owenton, Kentucky; his siblings, Mary Walton (Jerry) and Kenny Tanksley (Berna); and by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also blessed with many wonderful friends.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
